Dr. Kenney is a Board-Certified Child & Adolescent and General Psychiatrist, and the founder and CEO of Saint Sophie’s. He began providing psychiatric care in North Dakota in 1995.

Background

After co-founding and developing the largest private psychiatric hospital service in North Dakota, he founded Saint Sophie’s in 2010, with a focus on developing outpatient services based on patient-centered and family-friendly principles.

At Saint Sophie’s he is the Director of the Pediatric Specialty Clinic and a member of the Adult ADHD Specialty Clinic.

Approach to care

His direct patient care focuses on psychiatric diagnosis and medication management.

He considers care from a perspective that is highly influenced by understanding genetic contributions to illness, pharmacogenomics — how a person’s DNA affects their metabolism of medications — and familial transmission of psychiatric illness from an inter-generational perspective.

Other professional interests are telemedicine, novel psychiatric treatments and the management of obesity.

Dr. Kenney accepts new patients up to the age of 20.
